I’m Debby and I have been making jewellery for over 10 years. Initially the jewellery I’ve made has been for myself and friends, but since being made redundant in 2010, I have decided that I would like to turn my hobby into a business.
I have always been interested in jewellery of all kinds since I was a child, having collected stones, pebbles, shells and various types of beads from our travels abroad. I am fascinated with nature and the myriad of patterns and colours it provides. As a Graphic Designer with over 26 years experience, I have a keen interest in all types of design.
In 1991 I completed a course in traditional silversmithing at evening classes, and then in 2010 I trained at the PMC Studio in Chesham, learning all sorts of disciplines concerning PMC (Precious Metal Clay) and passed all 3 modules. These included making moulds of various natural elements, working with ceramics, setting stones and dichroic glass, enamelling, Keum Boo a traditional Korean method of applying gold to silver, photopolymer printing on PMC, chain making, and getting brilliant colour changes using Liver of Sulphur.
I design and make unique pieces based on the things that I see around me, my aim is to make every person who buys one of my creations know that they have something special that no-one else has, it is really important to me that they feel that way.
